Critical Connections

As well as providing consulting services through Critical Connections, Dr Badham pursues a research program focussing on the way in which selected properties of social networks constrain and influence other network properties. For example, how does the structure of society affect the likelihood and size of an epidemic? This program has two substantial threads:

• Using simulation to investigate how complex sets of properties impact on processes that occur within societies modelled by those networks; and
• Developing and analysing algorithms that generate networks with specific combinations of structural properties for use in the simulations.

In addition, some of the modelling work undertaken by Critical Connections has research elements. Where public, these aspects are also described in these research interest pages.
